Terms of Service

These terms govern use of TemboPay’s merchant, wallet, and developer services. By creating an account or initiating a payment you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

The service

TemboPay provides software for accepting and tracking payments. Funds movement on mobile money and card networks is processed by a licensed payment service provider (Selcom). TemboPay does not claim to be a Bank of Tanzania–licensed Payment System Provider unless that status is separately and currently true for your contracting entity.

Merchant obligations

• Provide accurate know-your-business information and keep it current.
• Disclose fees to your customers before they pay.
• Use sandbox credentials only for testing.
• Do not request or store raw card data on your systems when using hosted checkout.

Auto-pay / recurring

Mobile-money recurring charges require explicit customer consent and a customer-approved Request-to-Pay (or USSD) prompt on each cycle, unless a specific licensed mandate product is later enabled in writing. Silent debit is not the default.

Complaints

If something goes wrong, use our complaint form. You will receive a reference number and an expected response window. Escalation paths to the licensed rail or to the Bank of Tanzania consumer-protection process may apply depending on the issue and the regulated party involved.
